New EU Value-Added Tax (VAT) Rules
1 July 2021
The European Union (EU) is making some important changes to its VAT rules. Below is a summary of how they may affect your Hollywood Body Jewelry customer experience.

Business as usual for all shipments to commercial delivery addresses and any packages valued above €150
For all shipments headed to a verified commercial delivery address, as well as any packages valued above €150 (including those going to a residential delivery address), nothing is changing. You will still be responsible for customs duties and fees at the time of importation.

VAT paid at time of sale for packages valued at €150 or less
- As of the 1st of July 2021, VAT for packages valued at €150 or less is paid at the time of sale instead of at the time of importation.
- For all packages valued at €150 or less, Hollywood Body Jewelry must charge VAT at checkout (point of sale) and declare/pay it to tax authorities. The EU has implemented this rule to ensure more efficient customs procedures for customers importing packages valued at €150 or less.
- The VAT rate is determined by the receiving customer’s EU member state. Please see the table below for rates.
- If the total value of your package changes (eg. due to changes in exchange rate, inventory, or combined orders) between checkout and shipment, VAT requirements and charges may change.

Removal of VAT exemption for packages valued at €22 or less

As of the 1st of July 2021, all goods imported into the EU will be taxed, including goods valued at €22 or less.
That means previously-exempt goods valued at €22 or less will be subject to VAT and require formal clearance at customs according to above outlined rules.

All amounts are cited in EUR, not USD.
While Hollywood Body Jewelry conducts all business in USD, there will be a special provision to convert the value of your order to Euros to calculate VAT, only when applicable. - All amounts cited for package values are for the package total after any discounts and store credit have been applied.
- If your order is shipped in more than one package, the order value will be distributed appropriately across all packages. If combining multiple orders into one package, the package value will be the sum of all orders in the package.
